Hi Vanessa,
Thanks for your mail. Had the blood results come in today. As you rightly said, the Dr. was not worried about the mild numbness but was concerned about the high cholesterol (289) and high BP.
Ear wax is still present and wanted me to continue on Deborrax. Had prescribed ALPRAZOLAM as he said i need to get releived of my stress and needed more sleep. He wanted me to continue the Stress tab for a week and then revert back to him. He said I was "Hypochrondriac". Yes, I get stressed on small issues and that contributes to more psycholgical problems.
One last question, do you think Ear wax can contribute to mild headache at back of the head or am I still being paranoid..
Thanks a bunch..
K
Hi K,
It seems that the ear problem largely contributed to the headaches.
Why don't you get enough sleep.I know you are anxious about your condition but I feel that you are being managed well. There is no cause of constant worrying here.
It is best to wait for the results of the blood tests. Try to relax and have fun.At this point, your physician may not see any indication for a CT Scan.
Hi,
Tried to sleep and had a mild heaviness in head. Went to doctor and did a EKG. EKG is was good and he said the Heart if fine and there are no symptoms.
Thanks,
K
Thank you,,
My normal BP is 115/80 and it had been hovering around 145/95 for the last few weeks.
Yes, it is the right side of the ear that was blocked and was full of wax. Subsequent to removal the pain has largely subsided..
Yes, my dad is diabetic and has had a by-pass surgery.
My sleep paterrn is very disturbed and I hardly get a good sleep. ( It's 2.30AM EST now)..
I do not have any sever pains in the morning or so but a dull pain.
Numbness has not been there for the last 24 hrs..
My Dr has done a complete blood routine and the result is expected by tomorrow.
Should i require my regular doctor to request for an MRI or CT?
Thanks,
K
Hi,
With regards to your blood pressure, what is your normal BP?
Which side is the affected ear? Is this the right side?
Is there a strong family history of stroke or heart problems in your family?
How about a history of diabetes?
In your case, there are two contributing factors to consider: the elevated blood pressure and the ear problem.Your blood pressure is not really high enough to require immediate intervention.Based on your diastolic blood pressure of 90, this is stage 1 hypertension. As for your ears, have you had a full assessment done by an ENT specialist?
If there is any underlying ear infection and sinus infections this may contribute to the headaches.
A cranial CT scan or MRI may be able to help rule out any intracranial involvement.A complete neurologic examination may help determine if your numbness follows a specific pattern of distribution.
