My neurologist said that I might have Basilar Migraine. Nevertheless, after doing a bit more research, it looks like there is a lot of contradictory information out there. It seems like the diagnostic criteria for different types of migraine has changed a lot recently. One place says Basilar Migraine has bilateral muscle weakness. Another place says any migraine with muscle weakness should be classified as Hemiplegic. Yet that same site says that in Hemiplegic, the weakness must be unilateral. So, then, where does bilateral weakness belong? Another place says Basilar Migraines do not exist and are simply regular migraine with aura. So, what is going on? Is there no consensus?
If anyone has any thoughts on this, I am still wondering.
