Pain at the very end of my tail bone

I've had this horrible pain at the very end of my tail bone for since April. I feel it whenever I sit down in the car, reclining against the headboard and a few other sitting positions. It never happens if I sit on the sofa or if I'm sitting with my legs crossed and no back support. On a scale from 1 to 10, the pain can be a 5 and above. If I press with my fingers the very end of my tail bone, it hurts. I'm scared of going to the doctor because I don't have insurance, I used to but I got laid off a few months back and I had my insurance through my employer. And I don't want to go to CHI (low income med center in Miami) because the doctors are the worst!

You find a better response by posting in a pain section instead of on Migraines. To the best of my knowledge there is nothing that can medically done for you if you've injured your tailbone.  But you say that you haven't had any accidents, which does concern me.  When I looked it up, it says, " It is usually caused by local trauma (e.g. a fall) or giving birth. On rare occasions, an infection or tumor can also cause pain in the coccyx."  So I would see a doctor.  Good luck.

Btw, I'm 24 years old, and I haven't had any accidents were I've fallen recently. I don't spend a lot of time sitting down and I do or try to exercise regulary.
