migrains

I have read a lot on migraines.  I have all the symptoms and pain but I don't feel that they are caused by any of the things I have read about.  They normally come on after I have sat with my head tilted to far up or to far down when I am working on my computer or reading a book.  It is almost like my head does not sit on my neck straight.  My migrains are severe but very control able.  If I go to the chiropractor and get  the right adjustment, they go away right now.  I have never taken anything for them, but have always wondered since I don't feel that it has anything to do with my blood vessels, would it help my situation.  And is there a whole bunch of us out there that have this problem and the doctors just don't get it?  Any help you can give me I will appreciate.

Hi there

the "blood vessels" theory is only one part of what happens during a migraine... there is no agreement out there that the "blood vessels"-only theory is the right theory and in fact, it is a MUCH older theory.

more and more, people are thinking that the blood vessels react to something else... and that migraines are not vascular in origin AT ALL... which would explain why migraine medication actually works.

anyway. there are quite a few new studies. and a handful of new theories for the actual origin point of the headache... but... really, anything can trigger your migraines... and no, migraines are not vascular headaches like it was once though, the vascular symptoms are just a reaction to what is happening chemically in the brain.

Hi,

Migraines can not only be triggered by food products but also by our day to day activities like watching TV or working on the computer for prolonged periods of time. It is important that you maintain a good posture while watching TV and working on the computer.
Also it is important to rule out cervical spine issues like cervical canal stenosis, nerve compression and bony spur which can trigger headaches. I would also suggest you to do some neck exercises everyday.
Hope this helps!
