Hi,
Thanks for the update. It is good to hear that his present medication is helping him with his symptoms. With migraine, identification of the possible triggers is very important in preventing recurrences. A journal wherein he can put the activity or food that could have triggered an attack may provide a pattern. Let him continue his medications as prescribed. Stay positive always and before long, he can indeed make his dream come true. Take care.
Thanks for your reply. Phillip has had extensive tests over the past two years. He was diagnosed with Atypical migraines and has started taking topomax. Do far so good. His ultimate dream is to be able to go back to playing football
Hi,
Atypical migraines including hemiplegic migraines usually present with numbness, weakness or paralysis, loss of balance or coordination. language difficulty and even decreased consciousness. You may need to have this evaluated further by a neurologist for proper diagnosis. As mentioned from the other post, additional diagnostic tests may need to be done. Take care and best regards.
