BC after Miscarriage

I had a miscarriage in July. At my follow-up with my OB, she recommended I take BC pills. I was to start the pills the sunday after my first AF. It came on Monday Aug 16. So Sunday Aug 22 I started taking the pills. They were making me really sick, so I stopped taking them on Aug 28 after only taking the first 6 active pills. I started again on Aug 31. Was it from taking the active pills and then stopping? Should I have not stopped taking them without telling my doctor first?

Only using condoms scares me too, but I'm going to try to keep better track of my cycles, something I've never done before because I didn't really need to.

my doctor recommended using birth control but she never offered me the pill.. I dont want to go back on it anyways because I am hesistant about it effecting my cycle.. As well, I want to concieve again in 2-3 months, and I know once you go off BC, it can sometimes still effect your ovulation for several months so it didnt seem worth it.  Though only using condoms scares me that something may happen anyways and my body wont be ready

I didn't call my dr and tell her I stopped taking them, I don't think I'm going to either. We are going to start trying again the end of this year/beginning of next, so we are being careful until then.

My first doc wanted to put me on bc pills after my mc. She was a horriable doc. I had lots of problems with the mc. I had to change docs and asked about it. My new doc said no bc pills. With hormones all over the place, it would just cause more problems. I didn't take them.

i wouldnt have. if theyre making you really sick then they might be too strong. ask to get put onto another type with a lower dose of hormone.  they had to do it to me too after my m/c.  so far, ive been doing really good with ortho tricyclen lo...still a bit woozy after an hour or so taking them.
