Can tubal pregnancy be ruled out by blood levels alone? Have had no exam or ultrasound but doctor says tubal is no threat even though I have some concerns.

Levels dropped twice so I know I will miscarry soon even though that has not happened yet. This is my first pregnancy and I am 35. Due to family history, age weight, and the fact that I smoked for 10 years I have concerns about a tubal pregnancy...my doctor has not done anything even vitals and I am 6 weeks along. Trying to get a referrel to another provider for follow up care...but am uncertain if a diagnosis can be made to rule out a tubal based on levels alone. At first they barely increased then they doubled once then they have barely decreased twice. I have had mild intermittent spotting since I was confirmed pregnant. No pain so far but my sister who has had tubals and misscarriages due to PCOS had no pain either..and she had exams ultrasounds along with bloodwork...hope someone can help with this until I get a second opinion.

Latest update folks...tried to get two other providers opinion in my area and/or follow up care...both denied me services after talking to their directors...ones reason was because it was their opinion that I should follow through with my current provider...the others reason after not getting back to me for several hours was that they had no appointments for 2 weeks when I asked if I could check with them for cancellations they told me they would have none for 2 weeks I should follow through with my current provider...I made a call then to the umbrella health care provider for the area to talk to an advocate who helps with concerns...have not recieved a call back yet. I thought it was my legal right to get another provider if I so choose...but apparently I am stuck with a provider I am unhappy with...I did call and ask to have an appointment with another doctor there but will have to wait about a week to see her and she will be on call that day so appointment may get changed anyway. So more waiting whether I want to or not...no further labs during this time so I am very upset. God help anyone if anything goes wrong during this week. UGHHHHH

Appreciate the feedback...at this point definetly going to another provider for a second opinion. Just to be cautious...due to the risks of tubals I dont think that is unrealistic for me to do. My sister also had a tubal and had no pain and went through a series of exams and ultrasounds and had to terminate...so this doesnt sound normal to me or her. This whole process has been horrendous to say the least but I am glad that I can find even more support through others here. Thank you so much for your time.

Sorry for what your going through. I had an ectopic several yrs ago, I had all the blood work and even an u/s and was sent home with a threatening m/c, turns out after having a vaginal u/s it was a cofirmed ectopic. I can't see how it can be ruled out by levels alone, your levels may drop during a m/c and during an ectopic. I would talk to your Dr about an u/s and if you get nowhere I would seek a second opinion elsewhere. My best to you, please keep us updated.                 Lori
