Hello, all. I have been experiencing troubling symptoms for about 7 months (weakness, tingling, pain, burning) and every doctor I've seen has mentioned MS as the most likely cause. I live in a rural area but finally got to see a neurologist in Seattle who ordered MRIs of my brain and spinal cord. I'm still waiting on the results.
One thing that keeps popping up in my mind is that no doctor considered any other condition (besides Lyme and lupus, for which the tests were negative) and none of the neurologists could tell me if my most prominent symptom was characteristic of MS. I was hoping that someone on here wouldn't mind telling me if they have experienced anything like this:
I have severe weakness in my hip flexor muscles. I cannot raise my leg from a standing or sitting position, not because it hurts, but because it simply will not go any higher. As you can imagine, this makes it difficult to walk. The strange thing is that this weakness somewhat improves after long periods of rest. I have a greater (but not normal) range of motion in the morning, but loose it as the day goes on or as I do repeated movement of the hip flexors. It is as if my leg gets heavier and heavier the more I try to move it until I can't move it at all.
So I guess my question is: Do any of you experience weakness or paresis that follows this pattern, or is it constant?
Thank you for reading.
