thank you very much for reply.
I wish you a nice evening ahead :)
My opinion is still the same.......I think you need to keep in mind, that there are many conditions that produce 'similar' sx's as MS but the other conditions have a different sx pattern, as well as very different causes and what you've described would be very unusual for MS, because of how lesion damage basically presents or develops over time....
You mentioned the shingles is located near your spine, it's possible your bilateral limb sensory issues of burning and cold are interconnected to the location of the shingles and possibly effecting your nervous system and causing these experiences.
I'm not aware of a shingles support group on medhelp but there are shingles support groups out there that do mention these sensations, if you look you'll find a few site that might be able to help explain the specifics, offer some helpful tips and provide you with ideas of what treatments are available....

thank you very much for your reply. I have MRI of spine on 24th November. Doctor is saying lets wait for MRI of spine.
I am scared because of my left foot started perceiving cold but it is not cold. I read it on medhelp community only that this is a classical symptom of MS.
thanks a lot sir!
I wish you a nice day ahead !
Hi - Welcome to our group.
As JJ mentioned, itg seems unlikely that MS is the cause of all of the symptoms you describe. And while there may be some symptoms in common between MS and shingles, there is no relationship between the two. Shingles does not cause MS and MS does not cause shingles.
The relationship between VIt D and MS is not well defined. It is not known whether low Vit D levels is the result oif MS or contributes to developing it.
When is your soine MRI and what do your doctors say?
Kyle
thank you very much for your answer. I will keep you posted about my spine MRI results. even now also my left leg feels more colder than yesterday but in reality it is not cold to touch. Feeling of coldness has been increased up to other parts of leg from foot today. Right hand is colder than left hand now also and it is actually cold. These symptoms are present at same time. burning sensation in sole of right foot lasted for more than 30 days till last week. I had antiviral treatment on shingles and shingles episode was smooth and very less pain. Do you have still same opinion? please reply. i will be grateful to you. thanks a lot

Hi and welcome,
I don't actually think it sounds like MS, there just seems to be far too much going on and your adding sx's fast, one day it's sensory in left foot by morning both then the next day the right hand etc which isn't how MS typically presents. I think it's probably what you've already been dx with but none that you've mentioned are actually associated with MS.
Q: "I had shingles (3 months ago)+ vitamin D deficiency put me on the risk of getting MS?"
A: There isn't a proven connection between shingles and MS, Shingles is caused by the herpes zoster virus and it can cause similar sx's. whilst Vit D is often mentioned in relation to MSers, it's a pretty common deficientcy in general. In Australia where i'm from, 1/3 of the population is estimated to be Vit D deficient and we don't have anywhere near those kinds of numbers for MS, so if there is any risk it's got to be really low and nothing to be concerned about.
Cheers..........JJ
ps i know a guy who's still effected by shingles 18 months later
