Attendance Record for this MS forum!

Hello all,
We have had such an influx of new members recently, which is great.  And then we have a lot of members who seem to have been here from the beginning of this forum.  Of course there are the  rest of us who fill in the middle.

I'm interested in learning how long you have been using MedHelp's MS forum and what you think is the main reason you visit here regularly.

If you remember, it might also be interesting to learn how you found this site among all of them out there on the web.

Please select one of these choices and then add your comments in a separate post.    Thanks, Lu

I came here in 07 while researching and seeking solid information on MS.

My knowledge was limited on it (pretty non-existent actually) and I was confused as to why I was in the middle of being dx'd with it.

I found the information I was looking for and so much more, and that is what keeps me here. I enjoy learning, sharing and caring in the way that we all do here.  Not sure I'd even be on meds for MS, or understand it in the way that I do if it were not for our members and the forum.

I joined MedHelp in Feb, 2009.  My 1st post was in the Undiagnosed Symptoms forum, and I repeated it in the Neurology forum, and wound up on the MS forum.

I was diagnosed with Lyme in late '08, but I'm still on MedHelp over in the Lyme and other forums, and I still check this forum from time to time.

I think I first found this site by googling for MS forums. Although I am dx I was looking for info for a dear friend who is going through tests for what looks like ms (coincidence eh?).

Anyway I find it such a friendly community, a great deal of knowledge is available from Quix, yourself and others.

Also I noticed that is is extremely rare for someone to start a thread and not get responses, answers, advice etc. I have not come across any other forums that can boast this.

Stumbled originally onto the neurology forum when I was looking for some answers and found my way here thanks to Lulu about 6 months ago just before my dx. I've never used a forum before outside of my job.

I use it for:

1. Information about my condition
2. Help and advice when I am struggling for answers
3. Support when I feel low (just knowing others are there)
4. The occasional patch of humour in the middle of the turmoil.
5. Because after a time you all feel like friends ;)

You are on a roll with polls. You go girl :)

I have been a member for just over 5 months.

I was trying to join a local support group during a really rough patch and got online to look up some info and found medhelp.

I never did join the local group because the meetings and members don't jive with my schedule but I think that this is the best support group I could have found. I have made lots of friends that I love sharing with and no topic is taboo.

Our local group only has a few members and this one has so many I am almost always going to get answers and support when I need them.

Erin :)

DV,
Isn't it funny how we remember "our first?"  Ha ha

My first welcome to this site was from none other than little miss sunshine - sunnytoday.  She hooked me immediately.

This is not my first health forum though - after my heart attack I found the womenheart group on a competitor's website which I'm not supposed to mention here.  Those women got me through that trauma with education, grace and humor.  I still post there as well, but not as much as here.  In fact, a number of my heart sisters lurk here just to find out what I'm up too - isn't that right girls?  (yep, I know you're there!)
