MSologist in Europe and more questions

Hi all

I've checked the members list and saw that most of you are form the US, still, I'm trying my luck

Can anyone recommend a good MSologist in Europe?

As you can see I'm from Romania and would like to get a second opinion on my MS diagnosis from another neurologist, hopefully from a doctor from western Europe since I can't afford to travel to the US and also see a doctor and maybe do the tests again.

More questions

I was walking my dog today and the weather isn't hot, just a little warm but extremely sunny. So, after 5 minutes of being in the sun I got dizzy and fell. This is the first time this happened to me.
Could this be connected to MS?

And another question
I get depressed more often and it associates with fatigue (oh, do they go well together...) so it becomes hard for me to recover. Do you have any suggestions on how to get over this? Sometimes I'm too tired to do enjoyable things which would make me less sad and when this happens I remember that I have MS and I get more depressed and in the same time angry because I'm a psychotherapist and can't think of anything that would help.

I believe it's a phase in accepting this "MiSerable disease" , so many of you could have gotten through it. I would appreciate your input on how you dealt with it.

Thank you for your time and for all the great knowledge I have gotten from this forum.
The best thing is that since I joined I feel less alone :)

Almost forgot: Happy chocolaty Easter to you all who celebrate it!

Hugs
Lucia

Lucia,

Your welcome. Did the link provide any insight on the MS centers in Europe?  I hope the program provides funding for you soon. It is ok to wait, just so long as it's months, not years. Beta is well respected here in the states! Hope it's available to help you soon.

Hi

Thanks for your response. It was very helpful in encouraging me to keep doing the things I love and for rearranging my lifestyle in a more self-protective way.

Currently I am not on any meds, here they give it to you through a national program and I'm still waiting for the funds. My doctor says it's ok to wait. Either way, it would be way too expensive for me to buy them.
Hopefully I'll start treatment with Betaseron this summer

Also, you can look into finding MS specialists centers here:

Hi Lucia,

I found a 2nd opinion to be reassuring to me. I'm not they type to break down over things, nor let them get me upset  - I'm moreso the type that thinks, yea? MS? If it's clinical, and there is no "one" test to prove it, then maybe I don't have it, haha (I've learned a lot since my dx then in 07)

So, I went for the 2nd opinion and it was confirmed. Early on it was difficult for me to distinguish between MS symptoms and medication, and also between MS symptoms and existing chronic problems on top of the dx. Time cured that for me - you'll sort them out.

It's going to be important to get a tight grasp on sadness and depression. Only then, are you going to be able to put up your best foot forward and deal with limitations as they come. Or, muscle to and through those things you have come to love. If you are lucky, some limitations that come, may go too. I've found that the lifestyle change you make to compensate stays with you - and it's a blessing because you'll always have it when you need it.

I'm glad being here makes you feel good :) So nice to have you. Hope some of this helps.
Happy Easter to you too!
