Starting Avonex today. Already used Copax and Beta

Not looking forward to the shot this afternoon. I had awful side effects to beta and worried that Avonex might be the same,

Lulu54 :I Havent been able to coach the last couple years. The south Georgia coastal heat and humidity makes my MS worse.

Sidesteps:  I am titrating my dosage. But I had a real bad experience with beta last year so I kinda expected this. Thinking is that I can handle it once a week instead of every other day.

Did you titrate up to your full shot over a month? I did and it really helped my body adjust. I have minimal symptoms now, if any.

hey, coach! where have you been?  I haven't done any interferons so I can only go on the experience of others.  I hope you do well on the Avonex.  
It's football season - are you on the sidelines this year?

Well Avonex is a lot like beta. Got a fever  of 102  and feel like death. It hit me within 3hrs after the shot. Well at least it's just once a week.

Take some ibuprofin before injection.  It helps alot!  I still take it on injection night after a year and half or I get achy and chills.  Good luck today!
