Good Morning, Pastor Dan.
It used to be that Rich put off too much body heat for me. Since MS, he has had to move to the "former" guest room.
I continue to pray that soon, your Mystery Illness will have a name, and I pray that it is not MS.
I lived in Limboland for many years, before I was diagnsosed.
Thank you for praying these issues pass quickly & are not permanent.
Sheila
Nancy and I have definitely been twisting thermostats opposite directions lately, but we've (so far) been able to work things out. Definitely different layers for her than me.
I had the opposite problem a number of years ago, when my late wife was having hot flashes quite frequently. That was before my Mystery Sickness arose.
Sure sorry y'all are habving thede issues. We'll pray they pass quickly and permanently.
Hi, Sierra.
I have been sleeping in cotton tank tops, too, and even they are too much for me.
I cannot find a way to cool down.
It happens even when I take a much needed nap in the daytime.
I am sorry that you also suffer with it.
At first, I thought it was my Rebif, and then, I thought my thyroid meds needed an adjustment. Tests were fine.
I hope this symptom subsides for all of us!
Sheila
Hi, Dennis.
It is a miserable symptom.
I keep my bedroom so cold with the A/C, and it is really cold in there in the winter, and I am still too hot!
I'll try covering myself the way that you cover yourself.
I am tired all day long. This is a new symptom for me.
I am sorry that you are suffering with it, too.
Sheila
Yes! Most of my tops are tank tops because I get overheated so easily. Year round.
It's no fun.
The too hot at night is one of my worst symptoms. I have an AC in my bedroom that I keep at 60 degrees summer and winter and still am too hot a lot of the time. What does help some is to sleep with only the middle section of my body covered (from knees down and from breast level up exposed). That way the heat in my body is going to those areas which makes me cooler.
I need to keep the mid section covered as otherwise I end up getting to cold and start shivering. When that happens the only way I have been able to stop it is a hot shower. So then I am again too hot to sleep.
I have also taken my temp when feeling hot and it would read 96.7.
Dennis
Oh yes, it definitely interferes with sleep. I lay awake for hours.
It feels like my body is on fire, but when I take my temp it is only 97.8
The sweating just on your head was weird.
Yes, I think it is a relapse. My fingertips have been numb for almost 3 weeks, and my right hand tightens up, when I type.
I don't go out in the heat.
Thank you for the good, cool, sleep vibes.
Sheila
Yeah, it really interferes with sleep, it just makes you so uncomfortable! I think for me the excessive sweating, which was so weird, it was only on my head, no where else, was a separate symptom because sometimes I would just sweat like crazy and not be hot. Like so much that my hair, which was almost to my waist would be dripping wet. I couldn't wear makeup or fix my hair, it would be ruined sometimes before I could finish it, lol.
I think you're onto something though, this may be signalling a relapse, mine was part of it and fortunately went away mostly. I still sweat on my head a lot but it's also summer so I'm giving it some time to see if it goes away totally. Sending good, cool, sleep vibes to you!
Hi, Carrie.
I'm so sorry that you have had this symptom, too.
It's weird though, I don't sweat. I just get so hot. I move to the other side of my bed, and all too soon, that side is too hot from me laying there.
So, I get up and lay on the leather couch in my living room.
Thank you-I hope it goes away soon, because I am not getting much sleep.
Sheila
That was one of my most bothersome symptoms in my last relapse. I was so easily overheated and would often be hot for no real reason. I would sweat on my head, especially my scalp that my hair would be drenched often, at least once a day and at night too. I started out with very long hair and now have a very short pixie cut because of the sweating, I could never even fix my hair because it would look awful.
Anyhow, I definitely had this issue, in the winter I would go out to the garage in my shorts and tank tops to cool off, one time that felt the best, I looked at my thermometer and it was 18F degrees! This went away as I came out of my relapse so I know it was a symptom and not just a hormonal thing.
Sorry you are having this, it's really uncomfortable. My doc wasn't able to do anything about it, I just had to bear it out, which stinks.
