ongoing symptoms

Ok so My symptoms keep getting worse.... now if im on a car at night, the lights that i pass by seem to leave a small string of light as they go by. Lights seems to be too strong even during the day...also I feel like lights (stret lights, lamps, etc) they look like balls of fire...so weird.
Also I started having neck and back pain again. The muscles do not bother me, it seems like its the actual bone/spine. when i move my head to either side my neck cracks a bit... does anyone get these symptoms? its driving me crazy, the dizziness can be OK on some days, but it is always there...also the sore/tense/strain eyes are driving me nuts. Who else got this combo?
cheers
Gaucho

I have had trouble w bright light from on coming cars at night for a few years. I have

been closing my eyes if not driving, or looking at the line on the side of the road if I

was driving until the car passed. Now since 10-04-09, I can't handle any bright light. I

have to wear dark sunglasses when outside, and at times inside the house I can't

handle any bright overhead lighting either. I can't even look at my laptop because the

light on the screen is too bright, we adjusted it as dark as we could and that didn't

help. I get sick to my stomach and feel like I will throw up.   My husband keeps our

rooms lit w the dimmest light we can. Then I can't see the keys well on my key

board.  My husband went and bought window tinting for cars and cut a piece to fit my

lap top screen , that helps most of the time. I think we're going to cut a second piece

to see if I can see the words through it during real bad spells.   I can't handle loud

music or tv either also makes me sick to my stomach. I so love to see my family

come home and bring the grand babies, but I get so sick to my stomach at the

loudness of giggles, happy baby screams, or crying, I am weak when they leave. I

spoke w my doc about thing and she wants me to take a zanaz before they come . I

have been doing this, and it has taken the edge off, but I still get so weak I can't even

hold the babies long. If they want down from my lap, I can't help them, so I'm scared

to hold them. I have very gently tried to explain this to my children and don't want to

say anything again, because they pack up and leave right away. How  can I handle

this?? I miss my family and I don't know how to get them to understand I need them

here around me. I decided to just grin and bear it form now on, other wise I'll never

see them.  :(  Sad.... NiCee      PS no one came home for Thanksgiving this year because I wasn't able to cook etc. But I did hear the kids planning Christmas at one of my daughters home. I pray in time my children will adjust to me not being the same me. My kds have been my ray of sunshine all these years!  Sorry, I really went off subject!!!!

Thank you guys, you have been of great help and support. I am going to check the multiple chemical sensitivity thing... and next week I will see a general practitioner and im going to make him perform an MRI of my bran and spine on a 3T machine.... if that comes out clear i will be pretty sure its not MS... anyway, ill keep you all posted!!!

I remember this....the person who said they felt like they were seeing fire balls was ultimately diagnosed with Multiple Chemical Sensitivities.

Have you checked that out?  She was having such a difficult time with symptoms and was very concerned about having possibly having MS.

Her symptoms kept getting worse and debilitating.  That might be something to look at if you are getting no where otherwise.  I am sure chemical sensitivities would cause migraines also.

I've been light sensitive for years, every year it seems to be a tad worse than the year before, i have to wear good sunnies even in winter. It took a few years to see the connection to night driving, I thought it was just the brightness of our Australian sun but over the years it now includes any light. I have to look towards the side when ever headlights are coming or i'm blinded, hubby even started warning me when there was a sign. Just the reflection of our headlights hitting a sign would bring on pain and temperary blindness.

I cant say its balls of fire that i experience, more bright white that takes away vission, if i'm lucky it fades out quickly like a flash, always pain that feels like the light has bored through my eyeballs until i can see beyond it. I get that blue filter thing as an after affect but other wise when that happens i dont care anymore cause the pains gone and i can at least see again.

The last time i went to the optomitrist she said my light sensitivity was now really bad, still had good eye sight though, that really confused me cause i'd only gone because my sight would suddenly go double. Only recommendation was to experiment with tinted lenses until i found a colour that helped with the light sensitivity (nothing helps), double vission again put down to 'probably' reading too much because it goes away.

What i was going to say before i got carried away was that if your eyes are not processing what you see it can be the cause of dizzyness. I dont get migraines as such but i have read other peoples stories that talk about a ball of orange light, dizzy and stiffness in their necks when one hits them. Sorry if this hasn't been as helpful as i intended lol

Cheers........JJ

I have heard one other person talk about things looking like balls of fire.  I have not heard any explination of WHY though.

Not sure about the string of lights....if that is normal or not.

This is probably a silly question but have you had your eyes checked?

My neck cracks and so does the rest of my body!!  But I really do not think that is unusual in general. I have heard others with out a dx of MS complain about that issue.

Hope you can get some better answers.
