We all have different reactions to our dx and our meds. I was so happy to have the opportunity to be able to do something, anything to help slow the disease. I actually took pictures of my first med shipment.
It's been close to 2 yrs now and my med injections are like taking a vitamin or brushing my teeth, gotta do it and never miss it.
Good luck to you!

Lulu is correct... copaxone does not suppress your immune system... I honestly feel no effects except for an injection site sometimes being sore for a day or so... or every once in a while having an itch fest from one of the sites. I have not had any colds or anything since starting copaxone which has been the norm for me, so no change there... and we had a couple colds / 24 hour bugs go thru the house with everyone sick but me.
Once you get started with daily shots, you'll get to the point like me, you'll be able do the shot while making dinner or laundry.... I will even use clothespins to hold the heat or ice pack in place before / after the shot. Its gotten to be a joke in my home that its nothing to look twice at for me to walk up to my husband or daughter (she's 21) and pull down one side of my pants to stick out a hip for someone to do the shot there. My daughter still laughs the first time came home and I was in the middle of making dinner and as we're talking, I pull my pants down and do my shot in my thigh, pull my pants back up, clip an ice pack to my capris and check on the stove, all the time chatting away with Tori. This really does become like brushing your teeth, just something you do at some point of the day.
I'm babbling again :) Hope you're not panicking anymore... :)
Hugs,
Jen
Thanks Lulu, I'm telling myself that I'm lucky to have the chance to try a treatment as relatively recently people had no hope, did they?
How are you feeling? I was sorry to read of your relapse.

I remember the day I had a small box arrive and I was excited because I thought it was the new swim goggles I had ordered - my heart sunk when I opened it and found tht it was my autoinjector for the Copaxone.
Keep in mind that copaxone is NOT an immunosuppresant. good luck with this next step.
hugs,
L
