Serc?? Vertigo

Does anyone find that serc helps for spinny vertigo sensation with ms??? I started feeling "off" and spinny days ago and it seems to be getting worse. It woke me up in the middle of the night.
About two weeks ago I lost my taste sensation then inside one side of my mouth was numb. Although that sensation had slowly started returning I now have been getting a vertigo sensation. What do mser's usually do about this? Thanks

Hi! I tried Serc several years ago when I had vertigo really bad but it didn't do anything for me.

I was fortunate enough that mine only lasted a month or so and now it just comes and goes in a much milder form that only lasts a week or so.

I hope things get better for you soon,

Corrie

I am also a fellow vertigo sufferer and agree it's a cruddy symptom to have. I held hope for so long that it was my inner ear causing it but the vertigo but it doesn't seem to be the case with me as all docs agree it is Central (brain) vertigo.

I did try Serc at while back and it didn't do anything for me but I have heard good things from others. Serc is actually a diuretic for your inner ear in that it will hopefully reduce the amount of fluid/pressure and in turn can help some peoples vertigo. It is actually prescribed for Ménière's disease so you may find out more if you ask in a community like that.

I'm one of the people that carry a collapsible vomit bag everywhere and if I'm at the hospital I'm sure to grab a spare one lol. :D I have not yet found anything that helps my vertigo other than laying down or reclining for a while.
Be sure to have the doctors check for BPPV as this is common in MS and in the general population. There is a specific manouver they can do to find if this is the cause.

I have been having vertigo for over 4 years now and I have had spells where it comes and goes constantly for months at a time. I do find that heat can make my vertigo worse and I have much more in summer than I do winter.

Take Care,

Karry.

I am sorry you are suffering with vertigo! It truly is in my opinion one of the worst symptoms out there!

Nothing has really helped me. I carry plastic bags with me and when everything is spinning I lie down and hope for sleep.

Gravol could help but I have a hard time keeping it down long enough too take effect. I wish I had more to help you, but if u find out I am all ears :)

Sometimes medication can help. I have learned to live with mine.
