No additional health problem's...I was shocked while watching a story on tv about a women who has MS and has now been diagnosed with breast cancer and they said she could not have chemo because of her MS..I thought that can't be right..It really scared me as we have cancer on both side's of the family...
That's why I came to the trusty MS Community because I knew there would be lot's of good answer's from people in the know ...I also find it interesting about chemo treating MS...
Thanks for reply's...:X
I came in to say echo what has been said which is some chemo is being used to treat some people with MS. And steroids are used in cancer treatment too.
I would file that one under *myths.* We know that the MS reacts to different infections and stress, which could include cancer and knowing you have cancer.
But the treatment of cancer would be independent of treating a disease of the central nervous system. I know of no reason why you could not have chemo - but of course that would be coordinated between the oncologist and the neurologist. Sumana is right. There are chemo drugs being used to treat MS, including the lasted DMD Gilenya.
I hope you are not faced wtih this additional health problem.

I don't think so. They treat advanced cases of MS with strong chemo....
