Although every day we should remind our caregivers how much we appreciate what they do for us....how about tomorrow morning, start your day by praising and thanking those around you for everything they do FOR you?
It could be a family member, special friends or even a group of good friends. Tell them how much you appreciate them being there for you during the rough times and even during the good times. Remind them of their tremendous importance in your life. If they are within reaching distance, reach over and give them a hug or a peck on the cheek and just say two simple words, "thank-you."
Tell them how much joy and happiness they bring into your life. Let them know that even something simple as fluffing your pillow while you are on the couch resting, is appreciated. That cup of coffee they may get for you. That back rub that lulled you to sleep. Anything that comes t mind. It can be something as simple as thanking them for loving you.
Most of all thank them for enduring all of what life has thrown your way and (their way); with them steadfast at your side.
Everyday should be 'Caregiver Appreciation Day,' but how 'bout making tomorrow a designated day to thank them for all that they do. Even if you live alone and struggle through most of your days without someone by your side, there certainly has to be a friend that calls you, just to ask "how you are today?"
I am going to start my Appreciation Day early, by telling all of YOU, thank you for all your kindness, your friendship and most of all your compassion to my many posts on this wonderful Forum. THANK YOU. I dearly appreciate all of you. EVERYDAY!
Big Hugs to all,
Heather
