Cat Lovers

Hi All, Just wanted to tell you all I'm about to become a mommy, probably, to a 20+ lb Maine Coon Cat, from a rescue shelter.  He will come to live with me and Tazz, my 3 1/2 lb Chihuahua. I'm meeting the handsome gentleman, orange and white, on Sunday afternoon. Hope we like each other. Tazz gets lonely when I go to work, and she likes cats, but gets jealous of other dogs. Any body know much about Maine Coons? Best to you all, and hope you're all in remission, and dancing along. See the Cardiologist in am.  Wish me luck.Maggie

Hey there!  Congrats on your adoption.  I have a Maine Coon.  His name is "Big Guy". :)  Bet you can guess why.  In his prime he was huge, but he is 15 now and in decline, poor thing.  Still the sweetest cat you'll ever meet though.  I've not heard of an orange/white variety - he must be really beautiful.  Mine is your typical brown/black tabby color with the bulls-eye on the side.

Good luck with your appointment, and enjoy that kitty!

Oh my gosh!!! Maine Coons are GORGEOUS creatures!! :-) I have had a 'farm cat' for about 13 yrs now and he looks so much like a Maine Coon it's not funny. From what I know they are absolutely lovely cats and make great companions!
Good luck with your appointment!
