YES I AM GOING TO TOOT MY OWN HORN!!!

I HAD TO SHARE WITH EVERYONE THE MILESTONE THAT I AM CELEBRATING TODAY BY GOING TO SEE A LUNG SPECIALIST!

I HAVE OFFICIALLY ON JULY 17, 2008, QUIT SMOKING FOR ONE YEAR!!!

THIS WAS THE TOUGHEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE AND WHILE MY BREATHING SEEMS TO BE WORSE THAN IT WAS WHEN I WAS SMOKING, I SMELL BETTER, MY HOUSE SMELLS BETTER AND WITH THE MONEY I HAVE SAVED ON SMOKES...OKAY SO I DIDN'T SAVE ANY BUT AT LEAST IT HAS HELPED WITH THE BILLS ETC. SINCE I LOST MY JOB!

I AM SO PROUD OF MYSELF AND I HAD TO SHARE IT WITH MY FRIENDS!

LOTS OF HUGS,

RENA

Hi

Oh dear Im still a smoker.

But I have promised myself by the time I am 50 I will be a none smoker.

I have tried so many time.

I am getting prepared. I have put on so much weight since I moved to Scotland (2 1/2 stone) I am now on a diet 2 1/2 weeks in to my diet I have lost 4 1/2 llb once I get to my target weight, I will then stop the cigs.

I have already cut down and no longer smoke in doors its the garden even when its raining and it rains quite a lot in Scotland.

To all those who have quit well done Congratulations.

Good for you!   I too am a quitter...3 years (this time).  I am such a nicotine addict!  Confession time...I still chew nicotine gum and probably will forever.  It keeps me from experiencing homicidal ideations. Ohhhh, maybe I'll try to quit that too someday, but it is more than likely that I will wait until all I can do is sit and paint...paintbrush in my left hand and cigarette in the other.  If I'm 90 or so...who cares?
Hugs,
Mary Kay

I'm joining the horn blowing!  Congratulations, Rena!

I quit about 12 years ago, cold turkey.  Well, I had some candy canes that I used as a substitute for a short while, but mainly had just decided it was time.

I'm glad that you made the decision to quit and did.  I just read your other post, and know that now that you are going to have your asthma treated, your breathing will improve!  Oh happy day!

Bawahhhh BAH BOOOO!!!!!!!!

Hugs, pats on the backs, hoo-rahs, and all that,

Kathy

That is a great accomplishment over which to toot!

Can I be your back-up hornist?  I'm at 3+ months, cold turkey-style.  Didn't cheat once, and no cravings anymore.  Best move I ever made.  I do not miss the embarrassment and expense of that filthy habit, and hope (for us both, and anyone else out there!!!) we did this soon enough to enjoy much better health.

Do-do-do-DOOOOO!!!!!

THAT IS AWESOME! IT IS DEFINITELY ONE OF THE HARDEST GOALS TO ACHIEVE. AND WHAT ARE YOUR SECRETS (IF YOU DONT MIND  SHARING) I HAVE TRIED TO QUIT ONCE AND I DEFINITELY NEED TO BE BETTER PREPARED WHEN I DO IT FOR GOOD. WELL AGAIN, THIS IS JUST AWESOME,  YOU SHOULD BE SO VERY VERY PROUD! (AS IM SURE YOU ARE).

                 AGAIN, CONGRATS!
