BAER & VER

Hello all,
So since I have to go back for tests on Thursday, the Doc said he needed to do a BAER & VER.  Are these tests painful? They said that I'd be there for a while.

Sounds great. This information really puts my mind at ease. I really need it right now,-especially since I've been having a "flare-up" for 2 weeks.

In fact, I think they get better readings on the BAER if you nod off a bit. They want your thoughts nice and quiet, not revolving around "what am I gonna make for dinner," as my audiologist put it. Less interference with the signal, apparently.

Nope.  Just boring.  The VEP (ver) is typically a black and white checkerboard pattern that alternates and you will do several sequences for each eye.  The BAER is usually "clicks" played through headphones to each ear, one at a time.  You may keel over from boredom during this testing, but it is not painful.
