Thumb pain?

I have a really odd sensation happening. My thumb on my left side ( the side that has had all symptoms) is extremely weak and it hurts all the way into my wrist when I pick up or squeeze anything. Pressure of any sort is excruciating. I have done the carpel tunnel wrist test positions that my general prac taught me when I was having neuropathy and urgent care tried to say it wa carpel tunnel. Anyways long story short, no pain when I do this position. Only pain when pressure is applied. I did nothing to injury it and I'm right handed so I'm unsure what to think of it. The only thing that is different is that i have been sick with a flu bug that turned into a cold. I don't have a fever anymore just congestion.  Should I be concerned over the pain and weakness?

I agree with Sumana. The cause is hard to know since we are not professionals our answers are usually based on experience or on our Health Pages which can be found on the first page and covers a multitude of subjects.

These Health Pages were written, in the majority, by Quix, a retired pediatrician who also has MS. The remaing ones where proofed for accuracy as well.

But, in the end it is best to ask your neuro about this pressure,

Gee, it is hard to know.  Of course it can easily be the MS.  It could also be a pinched nerve.  The reason I know this is because my husband has a pinched nerve in his neck and often he complains of the same thingl

I would ask my neuro.  Then make a decision.
