We're having what seems like our 10 billionth snow/ice event today. Come on spring!
Meanwhile, I'll be dealing with reality. I'm making some authentic French onion soup, a la Julia Child, even making my own beef stock, browning ingredients in the oven first, etc. Not exactly making lemonade out of lemons, but same idea. A big advantage of being retired is having time, and time I do have, even though I have to expend it wisely and economically.
My MRIs this week show not much change, though how they can tell I'm not sure, considering that both sides of ventricles show huge blurs of smoky to dark-smoky 'confluent' stuff, 'subcortical, periventricular, pericallosal, and deep white matter T2/FLAIR signal abnormalities in the supratentorial brain.' However, there is also 'a nonspecific 2 mm lesion
within the right pons, which was present on exam dated 4/22/2013, and
also appears essentially unchanged.' Interesting only because this is the first mention I've ever had of pons (part of brain stem) lesion or lesions, so I think this radiologist is saying that this was missed or not reported on previously. Explains a lot in terms of symptoms. It's always good to repeat MRIs at the same place with same machine(s) so as to assure that apples are being compared with apples.
I'm on Tec, and it's encouraging!

I just had my tysabri infusion today and am exhausted. I will be out of commission the next couple of days. When I went to the infusion it was nice and sunny out and when I got out it was snowing and the ground was quite slippery.
A couple of days ago I had a temp and my Llegs stopped working. This happens when I get a fever because my body temp rises.
I am feeling good now and hope it stays that way for the rest of the weekk.
Take care everyone.
My neurologist wants me on Gilenya now. I have misgivings, but I have to find funding first anyway. Still not walking very well.
Hugs to everyone.
Tammy
I am very hopeful for you too Alex, and pray for good results.
Having a crummy week. Just achey and very fatiqued. I have been having some of the same tummy issues as when I started the tecfidera, but they have been during the night. Also waking up flushed like sunburned flushed in the morning. Crazy stuff.
Waiting for temps to get into the 30s at least so I can walk Big Baxter as he has cabin fever so terribly and making me nuts. Yikes.
Upside we go off daylight savings this weekend. Spring ahead 1 hour. Yay.
Hi karry ! Glad to see u back. So sorry about the cathing and infections. Sounds as though the infections have been UNrelenting. So horrible.
Prayers and HUGS to you.
Best regards to all, barb
I am working on my book. I started on the PARP inhibitor today. !6 pills a day. I am excited to be one of the first Cancer patients to be on a PARP. PARP repairs cells so cancer cells do not die. This makes it so the cells die. I am very hopeful.
Alex
Quiet here, had Tysabri infusion last week, still getting used to CPAP, and sun is out today, but think it is calm before the storm, another snow front headed this way (thought I was in the South but obviously no one told the weather) and Diesel is still working on her training. Squirrels still totally push her button and DH's ear drums. Took her to town yesterday and she was an angel but people just don't stop talking to her or reaching out to pet her and she's still so friendly. Think will get some of those cards and just hand them out to them to distract them, maybe highlight DONT TALK TO THE DOG! LOL
Everyone have a good week, am still thinking about Lemtrada but just can't make the leap yet and my doctor is swamped, so I won't see him til October for visit. My "med cocktails" are now tweaked and am feeling pretty good most of the time.
When is spring coming?
Last year of high school so exciting. And happybirthday to your daughter.
Aspentoo- hope you feel better soon and your Lp goes smoothly
corrie hope your results will help you
Karry- I self cath to and didnt think I would be able to but no problems now. I wouldnt be able to handle the heat but anything above 17 right now would be great.
I'm having a fairly quiet week this week. Trying to get over my 4th urinary infection in 6 weeks and trying to master the art of self catheterisation. I never thought I could do it but I have again suprised myself.
I'm not sure I could handle the snow and cold temps that many of you have but I do know it's too hot where I live unless you stay inside in the air conditioning all day. It will soon be getting cooler here which will give my MS a chance to play nice but unfortunately the cooler/wet weather does not agree with my RA lol.
Sorry to hear many of us are not feeling well this week.
Hugs to all,
Karry.
The snow is almost done here a couple more inches called for this week but really cold still at night.
Still waiting for MRI results which should be in thus week as well as results from a nerve conduction study.
Have a good week everyone!
Corrie
Bed here too (food poisoning) and praying it doesn't interfere with the LP I have scheduled on Thursday.
We've had a break in the weather and -1 degrees Celsius is feeling balmy:).
Hi Kathy,
It's summer over my side of the world, not so hot today yeeha!
Son has started year 12 which is his last year of school before UNI, the amount of homework is nothing like he's ever had and he's got SAC exams all week, throwing teenage wobblies already........gosh teenagers can be pains in the butt lol
Daughters birthday today, and we've planned a family dinner, nothing big because i've not been travelling well and with the way I feel, she will be lucky if she gets more than frozen steak hmmmm I wonder if she'd like a happy meal lol
Other than that i'm planning on heading back to bed
Cheers........JJ
