Lingering Copaxone Injection Pain

Just have a quick question for all of you Copaxone users out there ...  I have been taking Copaxone without too much trouble since November.  My typical site reaction is a welt, and maybe a small bruise that goes away after 3-4 days.  Last Monday, I gave my shot in my left arm without anything unusual.  THe problem is that I still have an area of acute pain in my left arm where I gave the shot and it has been a week.  All I have to do it touch the skin in that area and it hurts like crazy.  I have been trying to rub it to desensitize it because I have to give a shot there again tomorrow.  I can go a little below or above the painful area with my next shot, but I have to admit that I am afraid of what is going to happen tomorrow morning.  Anyone else with a similar experience?

Thanks!
Katie

Oh, so sorry to hear about the pain.  That has happened to me once or twice in my arms (always my arms).

I ended up taking multiple showers with warm water and massaging through out the day to help. Also went and had massage therapist work on it. Applying heating pad at times as well and just stretching the arm in every direction helped as well.

Tomorrow pick the furthest most site way on your arm from the last weeks injection site.  You might want to even try a manual injection?

After each daily injection I press firmly on the site with a cotton ball for 60 seconds and then ice it immediately.  I don't know if my body has just gotten more use to the shots or what but the painful injections and soreness have diminished greatly over the months.

Good luck!!

Hi Katie - The first shot I took of C I took in the stomach, and it left me with a somewhat sensitive pain for over a week. I have had no other issues since that time. I hope your experience proves to be similar.

Good luck :)
