ms and swallowing

I do have ms. Had it for 39 years. I still don't have a mobility problem but am starting to get some serious problems. E.g., I can't have sex anymore. Last night I had a swallowing problem which made it difficult to sleep. I could only swallow  if I raised myself in the bed. Can't go to sleep that way. I was frightened. But I am taking a drug (morphine) which also causes swallowing difficulty. So I am not sure what to do. Is there any way to identify the source of the problem?

I'd call your neuro about the other issue as it could be indicative of a spinal lesion, for which steroids might be helpful.

I would talk to my doctor about the swallowing issue.
