I have taken Avonex too. It is only known to cause fever, and achy muscles and joints- like the flu.
I have a question: Did any of your previous MS attacks involve tingling/vibratons in the same areas?
The reason for my question is this: I think some of our symptoms act up when we are under stress. Here I can use myself as an example: A few months back, I had to help a friend escape from a very abusive husband. He was drunk, and the police were involved... It was one of the most stressful things I have ever been involved in- and guess what happened? I found that my left leg was dragging much worse! I asked my neurologist what caused it. He said that stress can cause ANY medical condition to temporarily worsen, and he gave examples.
For many, having to give themselves an injection can cause stress. That makes the tingling perfectly understandable (and even normal, under the circumstances.) Even if have taken Avonex for some time, that doesn't necessarily mean that putting a needle that can be from an inch to an inch and a quarter into your thigh becomes a ho-hum experience. It never got easy for me...
I may be way off target- but if it was happening to me, I would assume it was stress related, unless it lasts for more than 48 hours. If it persists, please call your doctor. Even then, it likely has nothing to do with Avonex, but as Sidesteps said, you may be going into a flare, if it lasts.

I have been on Avonex since March, I haven't had any vibrations/tingling that I'd associate with it. I do get skin sensitivity (like aching skin) for about 24 hours after the shot sometimes but that falls into the "flu like" symptoms.
I have had vibrations since 2010 pretty steady as part of my MS. Actually, I get all sorts of weird tingling, vibrations and sensations. It is a parathesia. Annoying as heck, but a symptom of a flare (if you never experienced it before) or you are under stress. I would call your doctor.
I'm not on Avonex, but thought I'd respond so that your post isn't lost. My guess is that it's unrelated to the Avonex and has more to do with your MS. I give myself Copaxone shots, which doesn't go as deep as the Avonex shots.
There are weird symptoms I get from time to time that have nothing to do with anything other than MS. For example, occasionally when I breathe deeply my arms and hands tingle. I don't know if this answers your question, but hopefully people who take Avonex will jump on board. . .
