Electric shock or tingles? in Toes

Hi everyone, for the past week or more, I've been getting horrible pains in my toes and top of my feet... It feels like electric shocks...tingles is not quite what I mean..they hurt more then a tingle..or sleeping feeling.  They last only a few seconds but come back all day long... in between the shocks is when I have the tingling sensation?  What could be the cause of this...it's happening in both my feet, but mainly my left one... thanks for any info..

I dunno!  I've had pinprick pains all my life, but it's gotten worse in the last two years.

Unexplained painful pinpricks in the toes and tops of your feet?  That's neuropathic pain.  It feels to me as if somebody's poking me with a pin.  Sometimes the pain makes me jump, or the limb jerks in response.

The tingling sensation is another sensory symptom.

As for what's the cause, they're still working on that!  The theory is that you've got nerves with some signal interruption, so the pain and tingling you're feeling is basically static from a misfiring nerve.
