I was seeing a chiro for chronic shoulder and neck issues after dx. Made my nerves or something so jumpy, I just couldn't have it on at all, or very high.

Just the smalles fo a buzz is all I could handle.... It's been yrs and not sure if I could handle it at all now.

Hey, would there be any point in using a TENS unit to strengthen the muscle?  I know my problems are related to the nerve, not the strength of the muscle - but it seems like it would help a little.

There are many different types of electrical muscle stimulation and which is used depends on what symptom you are trying to work on, but neuro problems are not contraindicated.

I have MS, degenerative disk disease and another neurological condition.

I see a Chiropractor on occasion and she hooks me up to a muscle stimulator at maximum for about 20-30 minutes.  Never had any problems, and I love it.  Also go for Acupuncture sessions less frequently.  The therapist does attach some sort of stimulator but it's not the same and I'm not exactly sure what it is.  But I have had fairly good success with both and will continue to use it.

Not sure what problems you have.  Even if I did, just check with your GP/Neuro first.
