could it be MS? Please help!

Hi there, everyone.  First of all I want to say thank you so much for taking the time to read my post and help me.  I am so scared and anxious.  I first have to say that I have anxiety.  I had what I think was a big panic attack about 2 months ago and it has been downhill since then.  I have a large amount of stress in my life too.  So, here goes.  After my panic attack, I felt like one side of my chin was heavier than the other...that's it.  It made me scared and I worried about it too much so I got a prescription for Zoloft.  When I moved up to 50mg (the does I was prescribed) I started having "icy-hot" feeling all over my body...and shakiness.  A couple of days later the icy-hot sensation ended.  My heavy face feeling even ended.  But the shaking continued and I felt hot a lot...like hot flashes.  Ok, so, I also have sub-clinical hyperthyroidism and one of the symptoms is shakiness...so we decided to taper off the zoloft to see if the shakiness was from it or the thyroid.  I tapered to 25 mg and it was soon after that when I got my last bout of symptoms...heaviness in my whole body.  Arms, legs, head.  on both sides.  I am still shaky and ALL of my muscles just feel sooo weak...like I can't hold up my spine very well.  I am having panic attacks a lot in the last week too.  I have since started another anxiety med and a thyroid med.  Anyway, I just wondered if you all thought this could all be MS?  I just feel like my entire body is so heavy and I am weak and shaky everywhere.  Is MS like this?  I am SO scared.  I have googled and googled and I am wondering if I am perhaps causing some of the symptoms myself?  Thank you so much for your responses.

Dr. Google strikes again - unfortunately Dr. Google is unable to do a neurological exam, which would tell more of the story.

From what you write here, and keep in mind I am not a medical expert and just a person living with MS , I honestly can say it does not sound like MS.  The entire body heaviness and symptoms just doesn't fit the typical profile.  MS is a disease of the central nervous system and affects the body part where the nerve signal is corrupted. It would be unusual to have your entire body affected because that would take one enormous lesion covering a lot of territory..

I'm sorry you are dealing with the anxiety - that is a very real disorder and can cause enormous problems.  Please keep working with your own doctor and put Dr. Google aside for now.

be well,
Lulu
