First Round Of IV Therapy

Hi,

I just finished my first day of IV therapy. Yeppie! Not! I usually get really bad stomach pain/bloating with the therapy. Does any one else have this issue and if so how do you re-leave it? I've taken heartburn pills but that don't really do much for me.  Just curious if any one has had any luck with getting through this without a lot of issues? If not I will just roll with the punches as I always do. Thanks!

Thanks Erin I'm feeling pretty good right now it seems day 2 is the worst for me. Day 2 is today so I'm will try anything to feel comfortable. I have to say I am feeling a little better with the MS stuff so in the end I think the steroids will be worth it. Thanks again.

I am so sorry that you are suffering! Steroids can be brutal :(

If your stomach pain is more of a burning than the bloating from retaining water I sip on milk to coat my tummy and eat things like crackers and bread to soak up the acid.

They say to avoid salt because you already retain water from steroids but when my tummy hurts and I already feel like cr@p I just want it to go away and that's what works for me. Then after it gets better I increase my water and focus on the less salt.

Good luck - hope you feel better soon

Hugs,
Erin :)

I just went thru my first round of I.V Solu medrol last week. My body did not do well onit. I felt awful, heart racing and 4 pounds of bloating. The one thing I founds that helped with the bloating was warm lemon water.

The nurse that did my IV suggested that and after a day of drinking a few cups of it, The 4 pounds went away.
