I have had something VERY similar and it was VERY scary.
I overexerted myself at work and was driving home at midnight. Just as I approached my off ramp, my brain went bonkers.
Hard to describe and I don't even know how long it lasted-maybe 10 seconds; maybe longer. I felt like everything in my head was "whooshing" and "banging". It was almost like my whole brain was spasming and I am not sure I lost consciousness--all this while I was driving on the highway!
It was a terrifying experience and was followed by chest contractions which I believe was "MS hug".
I am 54 and was diagnosed in 2012. In four years I have never had anything so scary. My first symptoms (which led me to a neuro and my diagnosis) were very severe--extreme fatigue, loss of memory, dizziness, could hardly walk. I also had this weird brain sensation--felt like there were bugs running across my brain--maybe it was an electrical impulse travelling across my brain. Not a pleasant sensation at all.
I also have "cotton in my head". Right now my head is feeling full of pressure. This could be due to brain inflammation pushing against the skull. The pressure is mostly in my ears--not exactly a headache--I would characterize it as a fullness or a pressure.
Just wanted to share my experience with you---so many weird things happen with MS.
Hi RayRae,
Not a clue what the heck that was but definitely wasn't a muscle spasm of the brain, cause the brain doesn't spasm like muscles in your body, it isn't really capable of spasming.
I have actually fallen over whilst sitting down, no warning as such the world tilts and my brain doesn't know where i am in space, that time i went over still holding my knife and folk lol i looked up after inspecting the dust bunnies under the table and both DH and DS were looking a tad stunned that i was now on the floor lol so was i to be honest, i don't always know i am going down, i just find my self on the ground...
I'd talk to your GP, as imm said it could be a drop in blood pressure, dietary etc but if it's a one off it's not necessarily going to be easy to work out what caused it.
Hope that helps..........JJ
The brain is not a muscle. It's too hard to say what this might be. It could be dietary, dehydration, it could be a dip in blood pressure. If you are concerned, I would book an appointment with your GP. But these types of transient events can happen without any explanation or any continuing issues. I hope that's the case with you.
