3 attacks in about 20 yrs for me.
There really is no "average time" between relapses. The number that anyone would arrive at is a non-realistic number based on widely different data. Remissions can vary from upwards of a decade to the smallest possible which is a month.
The number of remissions also varies with the length of disease. On DMDs the average relapse rate is often less than one a year.
I have to comment that your anxiety appears to be really taking over here. Any concern that having a tip of a toe being a little numb is actually a symptom is reaching pretty hard to find an abnormal sensation. And being concerned that it might even be a relapse is even being more hyperanxious.
I fear that your anxiety is destroying your current quality of life. Anxiety this strong will magnify existing symptoms and make symptoms out of otherwise meaningless sensations. It will also throw any doctor off the track and away from real concerns. Have you considered seeking treatment for the anxiety so that the docs and you can see what is left when the anxiousness is removed?
Notice I am not dismissing your underlying problems. It's just that as the days go on and we see question after question within a few hours it is clear that your tension is taking over your life.
I am going to read over several of your last posts to see if I can be more helpful with the underlying stuff. I am just very concerned at the apparent escalation of anxiety and terror. Even if it does paint a picture suggestive of MS, the anxiety would need to be treated. It will eat at you like a cancer.
Take care

I think I have had neurological problems similar to MS type sx's since I was about 15 and would say that I had 4 attacks in 18 years with vertigo being my only residual sx until 2008. I never got any answers to these problems and as most of the time everything went away I didn't persue answers.
In Dec 2008 I had a major attack and that is the date the Drs say is my onset of MS. So if you go by that then I have had 8 attacks since Dec 2008 when my MS started. Basically there is no timeline. I have read 2-3 flares a year is average when on DMD's.
Hope you find more answers

I'm just coming out of a flare. I had extreme fatigue, my right leg was weak and numb, and I had a little trouble speaking coherently. I have two or three flares a year.
It sounds so me as if you have not had many relapses. This has to be a new symptom which lasts for more than 24 hours. I have had 4 relapses in 10 months and I have regular tingling/buzzing evey day in places where new sx developed.
I am sure others will chip in.
Best wishes
Sarah
I am still trying to figure that out myself - my feet are pretty much numb all the time to varying degrees - not really sure what it is like to have them feel normal anymore and also not sure if this is an attack or a symptom?
Sometimes I have random buzzing on my legs but only have had that a few times and only lasted a few hours - attack or symptom?
It would be super great if we could just make a list and have someone tell us which it is - just for peace of mind to not wonder anymore - wouldn't that be nice?!
It is all so confusing and so different for everyone so nobody can really tell you what is what I don't think.
So sorry I can't be of more help to you - hang in there!
