Buzzing...how long does it need to last for it to be a symptom?

Depends I have buzzing in different places that never lasts long. I have so many symptoms that come and go all day long I can't keep track. One reason I had no clue I had MS is I had all these symptoms come and go for over forty years. In the last three years they have intensified but not enough to interrupt my life yet. Since I have PPMS I do not have relapses or attacks or exacerbations.

I forget I have vertigo and double vision, and headaches constantly. I climbed three story ladders everyday for a living with vertigo because I did not know everyone did not have vertigo.

The short answer is buzzing happens when the nerve signal gets mixed up. Everyone is different according to where inflammation or nerve damage is.

Is it like the L'Hermittes sign that happens throughout the day when you turn your head a certain way?  Becuase that is a symptom.  Could the buzzing be in that kind of category?  just a thought...:-)

JJ is right from what I understand too.

Cali: That would be more like a coming and going BUT never going away...
        Hope that makes since :)

I still don't understand the 24-48 hour thing.  Does that mean if your say your left foot buzzes, it must buzzy constant for 24-48 hours.  Without stopping at all.  Like tuning on a light and leaving it on.  Or is it buzz for minutes stop and keep coming and going for 24-48 hours.  Sorry to hijack your post.

Happy Buzzing!

Thanks JJ :-)

I get buzzing feelings, but they never last long, only a matter of minutes.

I've been having a pretty good couple weeks, and I've been kind of ignoring most little things, but I felt the buzz right before I posted the question last night. When I felt it, it made me curious LOL

Short answer for a short question: Isn't it 24 to 48 hours for it to be classed as anything more than a pseudo, i think its the same for old or new symptoms.

When my lower left leg started buzzing it started in the summer months and didn't go away all through summer. Now i still get the buzzing but its when i've done too much and the other things are playing up to, so i'm now counting it though i'm still not sure LOL

Cheers......JJ
