has anyone had this before

Hi guys, got home from the Dr's today.  So, we will be having surgery in the near future.  My bladder apparently has collapsed, and there is an urgency to have it repaired.

Has anyone had this surgery before, and if so, was it successful, and how did it work ??

Thanks,
Candy

Hi guys, thought I would let you know my news.  The Dr. said it wasn't URGENT .. but emergent ... so, today I get a phone call from my Dr. and my surgery is booked for June 14 .... that is 2 weeks today !!! ...

I can't believe it is happening so fast...

Laura, my bladder is hanging out too, and so is the vaginal wall, so I look odd, to say the least.  I'm looking forward to getting it repaired, and they don't think it will stop me from cathing either, but at least I won't have parts hanging there that girls are not supposed to have  .... LOL

So, will keep everyone up dated......

Love and hugs to all !!!

My mom had a prolapse bladder a few years ago and required surgery - she could literally feel her bladder dropped through her uterine opening.  I also know a woman at work who had the same problem.

I won't lie and say the surgery is easy, but if you follow doctors orders, the recovery time should go by fast.  I'm thinkiing it was a 3-5 day hospitalization because they need to be sure you are healing correctly. I think it is a matter of urgency to get it fixed so the bladder doesn't become strangulated and become useless.

more hugs,
Laura

I haven't Candy. But I just wanted to offer support. I'm so sorry that with everything else urgent surgery is something you're having to deal with. I hope you're in good medical hands and have loads of support at home. You're in my thoughts.
