It's Monday Again......really?......yep....whats everyone doing?

Just realized as I sat at the Tire Place, waiting to get my tires rotated in preparation for the trek northward at the end of the month, that it was again Monday.

So, yes, today was tire rotation day, Thursday is Pacemaker Generator Replacement Surgery and Sunday an invitation to a play by a neighbor (some mindless getaway time) and that's it for me until I get the MRI date for my last MRI before I leave.  Neuro faxed order to cardio and now I wait and hope I can fit it in.

Hope everyone has a good week!
Hugs
Sarah

Thanks immisceo.  Yes, if only I could start some treatment sooner than later. I've been navigating these health problems for a while.

Good luck with getting accepted.

*without much direction. D'oh. Also - meant to say thanks to Sierra28 for wishing me good luck earlier in the week. I don't know anyone on here in the real world, but it still meant a lot.

Kelly, best of luck with those appointments today and tomorrow. What a stressful week for you! Well, I can say it certainly would be for myself. My goodness! That's an awful lot of health issues you're having to navigate. I'll be thinking about you.

My sample day on Tuesday went well (I'm trying to get into a course). There were lots of tests - of the academic kind, not the medical kind. I like those! Also an interview, so now it's just wait-and-see if I'm offered a place. Boy, oh, boy I'd love it. It would be a challenge, but one I'm longing to go for. I kind of unwittingly ceded 18 months post-diagnosis to just dithering around with much direction. Time to right the ship!

Good luck to everyone for your upcoming appts.

I'm working in between my appts.

Tomorrow is a b-day lunch for a friend/ex-coworker. And then we're going to a b-day glow golf party for my brother's girlfriend's daughter who will be turning a big 5 yrs old.

Thurs is my follow-up appt with my cardiologist regarding my tilt table test. They cardio who did it already said autonomic dysfunction/orthostatic hypotension.

Fri is my ct scan at the cancer ctr, then labs, and follow-up with my oncologist. I wish they'd figure all of this out SOON.

Yesterday I received my records to take with me to the new rheumatologist - even though she's told me that she doesn't want input from outside doctors. The dermatologist says that I have gottron papules & symptoms of dermatomyositis and they say I have CREST syndrome. But who cares really...  And the pulmonary functioning test shows that my airway is narrowed by 65% of what is predicted.  All of these doctors need to get together and figure this all out,  They're making me mad.

Going for my pre-op work-up FINALLY for a mensical tear repair that happened 9 months ago. Had to wait on clearance from every doc on Earth due to autonomic dysfunction. surgery is next Tuesday. Nothing on the order of your surgery JB but still am welcoming a little more pain to  relieve this constant daily pain.

Still waiting to hear from Vanderbilt University's Autonomic Dysfunction Center for an appointment.

Have a couple of luches planned by gracious friends to get me out of the house...can't wait!!

Good luck Sarah on your surgery , will be thinking of you!

Our MS Walk is also this Saturday, but not in the Zoo.  One of these years if it is on a different date , I will make the trip over to Cbus for that one. It must be a fund walk. I'll take cool weather as long as it doesn't rain on us, again!!

I have an MS dinner tomorrow (Ampyra) - going to see a neuro that is from another town.  Wednesday night I have another MS thing. Thursday I am hosting the department social (at a local restaurant, not my house!).

I first thought it would be a quiet week to report, but now that I've listed these, I am exhausted.

Sarah I will say a prayer for your surgery :)

Sierra...congrats on your haircut.  That always help put a smile on our face and makes us feel better even if it is temporary.

Doublevision, I hope you have a great neuro appt next week.  Being closer will be a huge blessing I am sure.  Let us know how it goes.

Alex...I'm always saying a prayer for you too :) I'm so glad you have all these hobbies that you enjoy.  I bet you are one talented gal!

I'm doing a MS Walk on Saturday and hoping for nice weather....right now it looks like a cold one :( The walk is at the zoo so at least we can enjoy that while we are there.  Next week I will be having an above ground pool installed.  I am very excited for this!  So are the kids. Lol.

Hugs to you all and hope you have a fabulous week!

Appt with new neuro this week.  Had to switch due to relocating to a new city.  Fortunately now that I'm in a large city I no longer have to travel 450km to see a specialist.  This is my standard annual appt to renew my Copaxone through the provincial DMD program.  I have lots of questions for this new neuro including his thoughts on the oral treatments.  Not seriously considering switching at the moment as I'm pretty stable on Copaxone.  Not much better since my last relapse (June 2011), but no worse either.  Also will ask his thoughts on Rx for neuropathic pain.  It's my biggest issue with this disease, followed closely by fatigue.  Not expecting him to have a magic solution that no one else has offered, but it doesn't hurt to ask.  Also interested in his background and research, focused on MS progression; it looks like he's published a lot.  He's fairly new to Canada, having been trained in Germany and the Netherlands.  I've actually visited his small hometown in Germany on the Baltic coast.  Small world, should serve as a good ice breaker.  I'm also interested in other research at that clinic including a Vitamin D study.  Living nearby the clinic I'm now in a position to participate in something.  Only a 10 minute cab ride from home, a most welcome change.

Hmmm, other than that, more mundane house stuff, getting blinds installed, looking for some new furniture, unpacking more boxes, etc.

I get a haircut this week! Trust me, in my world that's big news -- a much needed boost! :)

As my test results did come back normal -- surprise, surprise -- and my follow-up isn't for 2 1/2 months, I'm taking a break from the Diagnosis Drama Show and just focusing on doing the best I can.

I plan on sticking around here though because I do care about you all and pray for your surgeries and procedures and for all the others in limbo like I am. I just won't have anything relevant to share for a while!

Sarah, I hope that everything goes well for you on Thursday. I know sometimes even "routine" procedures can be unnerving! Enjoy your get-away time too!

Immisceo -- good for you! I hope you're able to find something that is a good fit!

Wishing you all the best for Thursday! Enjoy the play. I love good theatre!

I'm going to a 'sample day' (their term) of a full-time course tomorrow. I've been unemployed for a while and am finally making steps to retrain for a career. The facility specialises on training people with mental health struggles, so I'm hoping the extra experience and resources they have will help me succeed.
