Due to my chronic headaches, my doctor ordered an MRI. The overall MRI impression was that "No significant acute intracranial abnormality is identified." Yet, in the text of the report it stated: "On the T2 and FLAIR sequences, there is a linear area of bright increased signal in the region of the left centrum semiovale seen on only one image. This area appears to be of low singal intensity on T1 weighted imaging and not readily appreciated on the T2 weighted coronal images. This may be an area of chronic change or partial volume averaging artifact with adjacent lateral ventricle."
So, is this commonly observed in MRIs, or is this something I should be worried about since it states a possible chronic change? My headaches do always seem to favor my left side. As far as background, I'm 30 and a woman.
Thank you
