DMD help!

I need to know if anyone knows of a DMD that does not damage the liver.
I was on Copaxone for 4 years and it was not effective . During that time I had many major flare ups and suffered per permanent mobility damage.

2 years ago I switched to Gilenya plus a steroid infusion routine and I have been doing great! No flare ups at all. I have felt well the entire time I was on Gilenya. Unfortunately my latest blood test just came back.
The results showed my liver enzymes rose off the charts.

My neuro had me stop talking the Gilenya immediately. He told me I have to switch back to the Copaxone because it's the only one tat doesn't damage the liver.

I am devastated becaus I didn't have much luck with Copaxone.

I would appreciate it if anyone knows of a drug that doesn't cause liver damage.

Thanks,
Deb

Thanks Alex! My liver enzymes were so high I think I am going to have to suck it up and go back on Copaone and hope for the best :(

At least this time they are recommending the newer 3 days a week instead of every day. That sounds easier. I just hope I have better results!

Unfortunately I think Copaxone is the easiest on the liver. Each person is different they could just monitor you closely whatever you are on.

Oh Deb, that is not good news at all. The only ones I have tried so far are Rebif and Tecfidera. They both have it listed as a potential side effect.

What about Tysabri? I don't know much about the newer ones like Lemtrada, etc.

Good luck!!
