Just getting older or something else?

I was wondering if the stiffness in my legs when I get up is just normal because I'm getting older (I'm 36) or if something's going on.  In the mornings when I get up I'm stiff enough that it affects how I walk.  It loosens up after awhile, I'd say after moving around for 10 or 15 minutes.  This also happens when I sit for a period of time.  My calf muscles just in the last month have gotten very stiff, like how I would feel if I did a bunch of toe raises the day before, except the stiffness is a little higher in my calves.  I can feel the stiffness in them all day.

Have you had an evaluation for MS?  an MRI of the Brain and Spinal Cord?  Your symptoms might be MS.  Its worth looking into

Thanks, Jon, I appreciate your thoughts.  I haven't changed the shoes I'm wearing lately and haven't done any different types of exercise or activities that should make my calves sore. It doesn't bother me too much, I was just curious because of some other problems I've been having including extreme fatigue, chest pain and electric shocks in my middle toe.

I'm almost 50 and Yes I am stiff for a while when rising in the morning or getting up from my chair. That I think is normal.  As far as the cramping goes in your calves, you might look into how well you are supporting your feet.  I get terrible calf strains the next day or 2 when I spend a day walking around the house doing chores barefoot.
