Hi everyone
My last post was last year when I was to get a second opinion about my condition. Yes I am still on the waiting list of getting diagnosed, I'm going on my 3rd year now.
He thought my symptoms may have something to do with my heart so I went through 3 mths of tests and luckily everything came back good. Last year I experienced numbness on the bottom of both feet. Then I got calluses on the ball of both feet. The tip of my toes hurt after work. Then I started experiencing pain and swelling in both knees back in Sept. '09. Xrays came back good, but have been experiencing the most weakness in my right leg. The neurologist saw this in the fall which I have been tryin to tell them that it is not getting better only progressing. I was on anti- inflammatory meds. which kept the swelling down but had to change meds as they weren't helping. Now she GP put me on Celebrex's. She is sending me to a bone specialist. When I told the neuro about my knees , the weakness progressing and about the callases on my feet and that I was worried about my future of disability he just said I don't understand why you would be worried. All your tests came back good and as far as your callasus on your feet, alot of people have them. I then asked him then why am I getting worse than better and that I cannot do what I use to and a day's work is tiring and painful. He told me that he couldn't understand why I couldn't do what I could 3years ago. He just sat there staring at me as if I was making things up. I told him I want to get better not worse to where I may not get back where I was. His response was I don't know what else I can do for you.
Anyhow that is my vent and I'm not a doctor but I see and feel these changes and it just makes sense if you have one problem and it don't get fixed, it will cause another and another problem.Ex: leg weakness (causes my walking to be more of a waddle) - numbness - calluses - knee problems (due to the weakness which would cause more pressure to the knees.)
That's my theory but from the neuro's mind I don't have no problem even though he was the one that noticed the weakness.:( Sorry for the vent. Just had to get it out!!
