Severe Face Pain

Hi everyone.

2 nights ago while going to bed i started with HORRIBLE face pain on my left side only,, it hurt soooo bad almost like an infected tooth,, and my teeth are fine...

this continued yesterday at work.. so bad that by the time I was going home I was almost in tears.  The doc there gave me a shot of steroids,,, I was reluctant but I was desperate.  came home and still hurt so very bad just tried to go to sleep and although I did get SOME sleep woke up this am early,,, and it DOESENT HURT!!!!!!!!!:)

OK so my question is,,,, was this just a weired thing??? could it be MS related??  The doc at me office thought it was a nerve thing.... ANYWAY....

with the steroid helping and sooooo quick,, I mean I wish I would of had the shot 2 days ago.  tell me what you think Please.

as always
I'm so grateful for all of you
Ray:)

Hey honey,

OUCH!
That sounds awful! I'm glad that the steroids worked so quickly for you. I wish I had an answer for you, but unfortunetly my head is filled w/ nothing but bubbles these days! (not like I would know anyway!!)  I've had the numbness in my face, but never any pain.

I must say I've been fortunate enough to be able to be a stay at home mom and I don't know how you and others can keep up with work and home while in the midst of all the symptoms you are going thru. I give you lots of credit for what you (and others) are dealing with in midst of a job outside the home. Being a stay at home mom sure isn't easy by any means, (I think it's the hardest job in the world!) but at least I won't fire myself if I fall asleep at my desk!!

Okay, I got off track! LOL....Anyway... I'm glad you are feeling better now and I sure hope it was a one time event as well. I hope your doctor will be able to give you some answers.

Thank you.

I haven't had the time to read the other posts much.  Between working and taking care of my family. along with the extreme fatigue.  Quix I really haven't. however I will take your advise.

Thank you

Do you read the other posts?  I frequently recommend a site for possible trigeminal neuralgia that has a diagnostic questionaire that can help you determine if your pain is TN.  the site is

fpa-support.org

You know a lot more if you study the info on this site.

Thank you.  yes that's what i'm thinking trigeminal neuralgia.  I was so surprised on how well the shot of steroids helped me and so fast.  the pain was horrible and I also hope this was only a one time deal.  I hope this information will help others too.  If in-fact this was MS related or not.

Thank you again
