Lyrica...it's ruining me!~!!

I have started taking Lyrica and I have a complaint!  It's making me WANT TO DO HOUSEWORK!!!  Do you think I should call my pharmacist about this?  Is this a Normal side effect?  If it is I am not going to take it anymore!  My husband might get used to it and that is NO GOOD!

Make sure you don't let it out of the bag.  I wouldn't want my husband hearing that through the grapevine.  I've been on lyrica for a long time.  I take 150mg 6 x per day.  With that amount I should be cleaning the homes of my whole family.  I'm glad it doesn't do that to me. whoooooooooooo!  I'd be really tired. haahaaheehee

I'll be praying, (that husbands don't find out)

Hey Girl, I'm in the same country and you are more than welcome to come to Ontario and clean house here. We're a tad bit warmer than you right now so you might enjoy it.

Feel free, I'm sure my DH would appreciate it. haha

Just go gambling, have sex with your husband and never let him know that you were able to clean the house.  Just tell him that a good samaritan went over and helped you out.  Enjoy the sex more than anything, you never know when you would feel like you do today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

About Lyrica, I took it for a while, but it did not work for me.  My doctor switched me to Keppra, I think it is better than the Lyrica.

I am glad that we all had a good laugh on your account.  Thank you for sharing it.

Take good care of yourself,

Zulma

Quix...I will not let it be known, I promise...I am going to try to tough this through but I HATE feeling off balance and my eyes don't want to cooperate...I will keep trying though cause I don't want to be on the Neurontin.  You do give me strength through the sense of  humor...that is very important to me!

Zilla...YOU MUST BE NUTS!  It's -35 with the wind chill out there...I will just ensure that the neighbors don't see me and my nice clean house ok?

Humming bird...The weight gain was an issue at first but I have leveled out now but it's all the other issues that made me change I guess...I am really feeling rather stupid right now to be honest with you...I think I shoudl get back to you later ok?

I think lying down is a good option right now...back at ya later

Wow Thank you Rena!  now i understand about the lyrica.  I was put on nerontin after
a low back surgeryback in 05, yes for nerve pain, i took it for only six weeks but it didnt
really seem to do anything for me.  So it is good to know about the lyrica and that it may be an option for me in the future.
I hope in your case those side affects will dissolve so you can keep benifitting from it. So  keep me posted if you can!!
I agree with Quix, dont mix anything up there today lol

i've been wondering about Lyrica,i didn't like neuriton either, it made me heavy legged and sloppy and groggy.are you concerned about the weight gain issue, im trying to stay small enough so that if i need to be my boys cancarry me a time or two. they say there looking very forward to that part....i probally need to watch there eagerness, ther a bit devilish at times! quix has me working on a dx , i;ll be doing that first before any new meds or what not.have a great evening, hope you did

Listen carefully, Rena.  This is important.

Put the Lyrica bottle in the garbage, put the garbage in the refuse bin on the street and back away.

Do this slowly and deliberately.  Watch that no other neighborhood women go NEAR your garbage bin until it has been hauled away by the sanitation department.

That is all.

The nature of the drug is that the side effect should definitely subside.  Try to power it through, but whatever you do DO NOT let it be known that improved housekeeping is a side effect!  OMG, the demise of wome everywhere.

Also, while you're off balance and muddled, do not mix up the process of coloring your hair and making stew.  While the stew would end up quite pretty (and probably inedible) your hair would be a sticky, lumpy mess!

I do hope the Lyrica will be an real answer for you!

I am taking it as a substitute for it's sister drug Neurontin...they figure that the side effects will not be so bad but in all honesty I personally don't like it at all!  I am taking it for nerve pain and come to think of it I have not had one pain in my head today at all!  But I feel off balance and out of sorts...kind of sleepy but know I couldn't sleep, my head simply wouldn't shut down.

I will keep trying it and see if the side effects start to decrease as they say they should as my body gets used to it.  I am supposed to color my hair this afternoon and make stew for my hubby for supper and get a shower and then go to a friends to play cards tonight...WISH ME LUCK!  I guess I will go try my hair now and will let you know what happens.  Last time the color only took on parts of my hair so I've been lookin' pretty patchy but I will try again!

I agree! It actually made me want to swim and walk last summer! Can't hardly wait for it to get nice, I'm, tired of winter. Makes me hurt a lot more. I tolerate heat much better than cold. Just got all my errands run, groc shopped, and am now tired.  Don't let your husband see you vacuuming.tell him the good fairy did it LOL......Glad it's working for you..........Maggie
