My first symptom was optic neuritis, two years later numbness in fingers. Not long after that L'Hermittes sign.
First symptom 2000
Diagnosed MS 2002
Well, mine started with a yeast infections. Then one day I couldn't urinate (which lasted for a week). I also had the skin pain/burning sensation for a few years but I always thought it was stress, so I ignored it..and it would go away...then I had stiffness of my left leg and some numbness.
My first symptoms were tingling in feet, which now has gone on for exactly one year constantly now.
Paresthesias (buzzing, vibrating) and reduced sensation.
First symptom of my MS was Lhermitte's in Jan 2006. Electric/buzzing/vibrating sensation I would feel down my spine all the way to both feet and hands, when I flexed my neck forward.
Sensation changes then numbness, tingling and burning in right foot.
Fatigue
First symptoms I recognized were dizziness and fatigue, especially when hot.
1st Neurologist pointed out balance issues and tremor.
8 months later had Optic Neuritis.
Ms Specialist added hyper reflexes, positive babinski and loss of feeling in both feet to the list.
All of those are perminent symptoms, except for the optic nueritis with came and went. Apparently I have had them all for a while, just didn't recognize them.
Tightness in my forearms and arms and legs paralyzed for 5 days...

Thank you all for your comments on this, My main reason for asking the questions wasn't necessarily for a poll, it was because many of us here in limbo often wonder what the first symptoms were for those who are diagnosed and it is tough going through all the profiles I thought that this would be a good way to see first hand.
For me personally as more people have written i am seeing a pattern that is similar to my own
l'hermittes is my biggest issue and as lyme, pinched nerves and vitamin deficiency's have been ruled out i was having a tough time finding something else out there that listed this as a main symptom.
Thank you all so much
Cognitive issues and vertigo, starting in 2007. However, looking back I may have been as young as 18, because at eighteen I would have these spells were I would feel like someone had shocked me and I would drop whatever I had in my hand.
The only thing in the poll that I had was L'hermittes
Slurred speech
Walking issues (had to correct myself from going off to the right)
Uncoordinated and had could not make my body do what my mind wanted or needed to do
Basically, all stroke-like symptoms to include not being able to make my hand write, etc
L'hermittes caused a buzzing in my keister (when I bent my head down)
Fatigue (could not stay awake)
I could go on and on here...............

My first signs were dizziness, knife stabbing pain in my right temple and ear and then a TIA and completely dead on the right side of my body that lasted 6 hours-complete recovery and the 2nd TIA one month later to the day.
Grand Mal Seizures while sleeping and Optic Neuritis...other than that, no "typical" MS Symptoms until July 2007. Diagnosed in 1993.

Tight hard muscles in my arms which always made them weak, unexplainable bone numbing fatigue and horrible muscle spasms after getting hot.
Itching in feet, hands, ears.....nothing would ease it, not even cortizone creams.
Tinnitis off and on for 2 yrs, now is always on for the last 2 yrs
My 1st symptoms were at 1st thought to me a TIA- right side paralysis, with drooping of the right face and slurred, difficult, thick, speech. This episode lasted 1 week- with a 5 day hospitalization, with residual symptoms for 1 month. I had a complete recovery. It was 4 years until my next episode.
The very first thing I noticed was burning, tingling, and numbness. However, I didn't go to the doctor until my face started tingling, and my vertigo showed up.
the first thing i noticed was an annoying feeling of water running down the back of my right leg. i also had intense fatigue and weakness in one of my legs.
Dizziness was my first symptoms of whatever this is...then the heavy left leg, Double/Blurry vision, tingling, numbness on left side. etc etc...
