New sensation - possibly MS related?

For about 2 weeks I've been having an aching pain I've never felt before in my life. It's like my lower chest/rib cage has been beaten thoroughly and it just aches like you would not believe. Sometimes it makes breathing painful, other times not so much, but probably more often than not it makes me feel short of breath - kind of like I can't get a deep enough breath. So far I've been able to treat it with ibuprofen (800mg) but a couple of times it didn't matter how much I took, it just didn't ease up. I haven't talked to my doc about it yet, I'm hoping that it's just something that will pass, but I think I remember reading somewhere a while back about something like this being related to MS. I can't remember where I read about it or what it was called, so I'm hoping someone will know what I'm talking about, or maybe I'm just having unrelated issues.

I called my neurologist and he said that it's the intracostal (spelling?) muscles (the ones between the rib bones, from what I gathered) spasming and he said that it could be a sign of another exacerbation, but it also happens when you're tired, stressed out or both. I looked up "MS Hug" and it pulls up a site for "Microsoft Healthcare User's Group" and then a couple links down from there is an article that sounds just about right. I never would have searched for that, so thanks for the heads up Julia!

Could this be the "MS Hug"?

Jason, maybe you can google it and see if it is similar to what you are describing?
