Anyone have trouble opening your eyelid after sleep?

I have some type of issue with my left eye. The neuro is looking into it, a new MRI set up for next week. Anyway, it's not stuck together with goop or anything, it just does not want to open after I've been sleeping or had to shut for a bit. It feels too weak, like it weighs 10 lbs or something! It's been happening for about 3 days in my left eye, I did not get to tell the neuro about it as that had not happened at that point. That's the eye I'm having the most problems with though. That eye also feels very weak, I have blurry and double vision in both eyes but the left is worse and my eye hurts. If I touch on my eyelid towards my eye socket, it's so sore and tender and I've had headaches in that temple. Any ideas?

Sounds like it just might be eyelid weakness. It's a muscle like everything else, so it makes sense.

Hi there,

I actually found quite a few similar q's on other medhelp communities but they didn't really give answers. Interestingly on the optometry sites the most common explanation (i could find) for your collection of sx's, actually seemed to be 'dry eye' but there were other explanations, few neuro though none i could see related to "sleeping or had to shut for a bit"....below isn't great but it has a list of all the sx's related to dry eye and might be worth exploring.
