Thanks so much for your encouragement. I am back from my test! It wasn't that bad, just as you all said. I got to talk to the doctor (she did the test) after and have arranged for the report to be sent to me. I did learn that I do have nerve damage in my legs (feet?). My left hand has NO damage. What is wierd is that my hand is the thing that bothers me the most, other than the fatigue. Being left-handed, I am concerned that the numbness and loss of "ability" worries me. She seemed surprised to find no nerve damage and tried some things to check for weakness. She said my hand is definately weaker than the other one. Duh! I can't make a "three" and can hardly make my thumb touch my pinkie! So...she has decided to have an MRI of my brain because she said a lesion could be causing it. She has never mentioned MS, ALS, Lupis, insanity or any other possible cause for my problems. Maybe she thinks she will scare me. She seems to understand that not knowing is the worst thing. One strange thing that happened is right in the middle of the needle part of the test I started crying right out of the blue! I could not find any thoughts to connect with it. I just cried for a good 15 minutes until her attempts to cheer me up distracted me enough. What the heck was that about?! Anyone know or have that happen to them?
Love you guys! Mary Kay
I am a big sissy and I thought it was a breeze. The shocking part (NCS) was worse than the needles (EMG). And really, it wasn't really painful just a little uncomfortable for a second. My neuro told me that he has had grown men come in her office and after the first shock they get up and leave, they say "thats it." I laughed, because for me it wasn' that bad, heck us women had babies, we know all about discomfort and pain, right? Good luck, you will be fine. BTW, all four of my extremities were normal.

It will be okay, I have to say it is not unpleasant enough to not do it. And if your legs or arms are cold, have them warm you up before they do it. Good luck today, Sweetie.
Love,
Ada
