Alphateam was diagnosed with MS

Hi Guys,
I just thought I would let you know that we have a new member who was diagnosed with MS, her post stating this was missed by everyone I think because it was added on to her post on Second Attack Of Transverse Myelitis which is now on the second page of this forum, she has just come out of hospital and her diagnosis has now changed to MS.

I just thought I would let everybody know as I think her post was lost because it was on the bottom of the old post.

I know that everybody would be thinking of her and ready to answer any of her questions.

Cheers,
Udkas.

Hi Joanna, we haven't met.  I haven't posting much lately.  Life intrudes :0)

However, I just wanted to say hang in there, allow yourself to feel your emotions, you don't have to be strong all of the time.  What you are feeling is part of the process.

At this point you are prob grieving over the loss of what you might consider the old you.  Well as so many on here have said before...you are the same you today as you were yesterday.  Today you just have a name for problems you have been having.

take care of yourself.  You deserve it and remember you to give yourself a license to grieve.  You do not, I repeat, have to be strong all of the time.

Hi I was also diagnosed just over a week ago with RRMS and am still feeling very much like I am finding my feet..particularly with new drugs I am taking to help nerve pain and tingling. I have been put on Amitriptylin 20mg and Gabapentin which I am slowly increasing to give my body time to adjust to it. It all feels very strange and I am so tired all the time but not sure if this is the relapse I am going through or the drugs. Time will tell. So I just wanted to say that I am thinking of you and understand how you are feeling. Sending a big hug

Sorry to hear of your diagnosis but as others have said you have solid answers and can now have a plan of attack.  Be forewarned of the roller-coaster of emotions that will accompany this dx. Some days you will be fine and then suddenly it hits you allover again. I speak from experience. I was dx just a year ago this month.

I'm glad you found this forum. We are here anytime you have a question, comment, vent or just need a cyber hug!

I hope your symptoms settle down soon and you can get some sleep.

Sending gentle hugs your way,
Ren

I want to Welcome you here to the forum where you will find such a wonderful group of people who are have much knowledge and are willing to help out w/ questions and any other info needed.

I am sorry that your post got missed stating that you are officially diagnosed.
You are right! Just take it one day at a time as there will be ggod days and bad days of emotions and trying to wrap your brain of what you have been dx with.

Give yourself some time to settle in to your new dx as you take in as much (accurate) information as you can.
I do hope that you can get some rest as lack of it can certainly cause your sx to be even more bothersome.

Take Care and again, I am sorry for your dx but gald that you have concrete answers.

Hello all:

As stated earlier I am now dx with MS.  It is a hard thing to hear but now I guess I can deal with it.  I have not had a good night sleep in over a week, my legs are constantly numb and hurting.  I am waiting for the nurse to show me how to use the meds.  There is so much going on.

I am gonna take it one day at a time because this is all I can do right now.  I am so glad I found this forum as it is helping me to make it one day at a time.
