Mystery illness

Can anyone out there relate to my concerns please
I've been having seizures since I was 17, I've had every test (ct, MRI, ultrasound, etc) everything has come back clear. I'm 33 now and the seizures are becoming more frequent, I'm extremely fatigued and my vitamin b12 is quite low. I have depression and anxiety issues. I have also started getting lower back pain and I constantly have a stabbing pain in the left side of my chest and regardless of what doctors might say, it's not reflux.
Do anyone have of these similar symptoms

Everything you've mentioned is associated with what you already know about, so there's less likely something else going on too eg

Fatigue is commonly associated with mental health issues like depression/anxiety as well as vit B deficientcy

Left side chest pain is associated with GERD (acid reflux) and gastric issues like GERD is commonly associated with mental health issues.

Lower back pain is very common, it's  mainly associated with spinal stress or muscle strain, a very long history of seizures with resent increase could explain it, but lower back issues are also associated with fatigue ie inactivity, poor postural positioning to relieve pain/discomfort   etc

Depression/anxiety commonly associated with fatigue, dietary issues, GERD (acid reflux), back pain/strain.

Seizures don't necessarily need to be identified as psychological to effect mental health,  depression and stress are know to both trigger and exacerbate seizure activity, which can cause a viscous cycle of increased seizures and mental health issues.

There isn't anything you've mentioned that sounds like it could be something like Lupus.......keep in mind that your symptoms and blood test results should of been suggestive of Lupus and the only abnormal result that came up in your blood work was the low vit B12, so it's less likely to be Lupus and more likely associated with what you already know....

I think it would probably be beneficial for you to consider seeing a neuro-psych who can potentially help you access an individualized treatment plan that incorporates the combined issues of seizure and mental health, and likely have a broader knowledge of all the associated comorbid medical issues.

Hope that helps.......JJ

Hi and welcome,

Seizures are not commonly associated with MS but if after 15-16 years you still don't have the abnormal MRI lesion evidence and or abnormal neurological clinical signs of lesion damage etc, what ever is causing you these symptoms is honestly unlikely to be due to a neurological condition like MS because it would be highly untypical for a neurological condition like MS to not be showing up any suggestive/consistent hard evidence in that type of time frame.

There are many different types of seizures, the type of seizures have you been diagnosed with may help explain your lower back pain and stabbing pain feeling. If they cause you to drop, it's possible after this length of time frame for you to have developed some spinal disc or other structural spinal issues, has your spine been assessed?

Hope that helps.......JJ

Thank you, there are so many different areas that I want to post my experiences on as I've been told my symptoms are possibly lupus symptoms. Could that be true?
