Long Term Safety Betaseron

Who was asking about long term safety of interferon?  This is the one of the links (still looking for the other)I couldn't find when you asked.
21 and 16 year follow up studies - along w/their limitations, i.e., FDA blocks in place regarding contacting study patients...

            http://www.msrc.co.uk/index.cfm/fuseaction/show/pageid/1766

Among the headlines of documented results you'll find from the above link.

Benefit seen with interferon lasts into progressive MS

Study supports long-term safety profile of Betaferon® for Multiple Sclerosis over 16 years

Betaferon Extends MS Patient Lives, 21-Year Follow-Up Study Finds

Figured this info was also timely info, considering the bad press interferon is getting as of late.

I would at some point like to read it Shell, but I'm not in the right mindset to do it now.  Maybe you could inbox it to me?

Coach - so sorry it was not the one to work for you :(

Needhelp - the studies were around the inf b1 (Betaseron), however, like Max says, they are similiar, but a bit different forumulated.

Now, having said that - I do have info about the varying interferon, if you want to play scientist, lol I've read it myself more than once, and it sure does take some time to absorb the differences - but, none-the-less a great read!

Diggie - You are so welcome!

I am no expert, but since three of the CRAB drugs are interferon beta (either 1a or 1b), they should all have the similar benefits/risks.

Does this include Rebif, because Rebif is an interferon as well?

the side effects and the damage it was doing to my body was worse than MS. I hope it works well for others, but Imy body couldn't handle it.
