Yes this is very typical for MS... You should probably go see a Urologist... There are medications that they can give you that will help... Mine got to the severe point I ended up having to have surgery... I now have a urostomy bag... Do you have a lot of bladder infections?
I had constant infections and had to wear a catheter for over a year... Hopefully medication will treat your problem but do not let it go... The longer you let it go the worse it may be...
I'll be praying,
Carol
Thanks. I have always had bladder infections since the age of 12.
I don't Hqve them constantly though. I was on a profilactic (?) medicine for a yer and then became pregnant again and had to go off.
I Hqve to see if it happens again. I always leak slightly, but this was the biggest up till now. I Hqve been having ms symptoms since march. Not diagnosed.
This is new like io said.
I will see about the urologist. Thanks for the tip.

Yes, this is typical. For me, I go through periods of time with the problem and it will go away. During these times I will have trouble with not urinating very strongly (trickle) and have accidents all in the same day--go figure! I do have more bladder infections than I used to, but they are a far cry from constant. Medicine did help. Be hypervigillent about avoiding infection, too, as you are more likely to have them.
It's why I stopped running - my bladder will leak if I bounce up and down. I always try to go as much as possible, so I won't have an accident, but it's not always reliable.
Yes, you're going to need to see a Gyno/urologist and most likely after having four children, he will say it is anatomical, just as mine said it was. I had surgery (vaginal mesh) in June of 2011 and unfortunately, it did not work. After day 2, I was still getting up at night to pee (even though I emptied my bladder before I went to bed) and always upon wakening. Frequency hadn't changed. Leakage happened to me as well and it was more disconcerting to have that for I felt if it was anatomical and he "fixed" it, it didn't work.
I am not diagnosed as you know, but I do know this is common in people who have MS.
I remember when I went to see my MS Specialist in June (prior to surgery), I wet my pants en route to his office. I had to strip down in the bathroom and blow dry my panties and jeans as best I could before seeing him. It was a cough that caused that mess.
I think using a minipad would help ensure dryness and not ruin your clothing if this happens to you.
Good luck with your urologist.
