Embarrassing question for the ladies!

My question is, have any of you ever suffered weird symptoms involving the perenium or genitals that are not necessarily painful but very distressing? I have been getting a really weird sensation for over a month and wondered whether a prolapse is the culprit but I can't get an appointment with my gp until next wednesday.
I spoke to my ms nurse on tuesday and she said it could possibly be a sensory symptom but it feels too 'real' to me so I thought I'd check if anybody else has experienced this? It feels like an aching, dragging sensation and it's really worrying me.
I should add I haven't been able to feel my feet properly in well over a month either and am currently awaiting the results of my latest mri to finally make a decision on my treatment.
I'd be grateful for any help!

A couple of years ago I had levator ani spasms (the bowl of muscles in the pelvis), eventually I was put on vaginal valium suppositories for a month and it helped. Now thinking about it i wonder if it was a nerve issue triggering those muscles. Anyways, if it's tight pain ask about the vaginal valium therapy. I had immediate relief!

LOL!  That is exactly how I feel.  I keep waiting for this so-called remission, but I've become so accustomed to my symptoms I'm not sure I'd even recognize it if it showed up.  Take care of yourself.

Thank you so so much for all these responses! I am currently waiting for the results of a urine test to rule out any infection and am on antibiotics for a chest infection so all of this could be causing the symptoms. If there is no infection my nurse wants me to try a course og steroids.
Walle670: I have been getting the sensation of defecating and it's so distressing when I'm out in a public place! I have checked and don't think I can find any signs of a physical problem but am going for an internal on weds tto be sure.
My ms nurse is convinced its a sensory synptom.
I think relapsing remitting ms is a misleading description...where's my remission?! lol

Do you think it could possibly be a bladder infection??

I found out a month after I had the test that I had a bladder infection.  (Long story - but I'm MAD) And I had no idea other than feeling like I had been wacked inbetween the legs -HARD-a couple times that I had an infection!!  I remember be in my 20s immediately being in agony w/ an infection.  Now I guess the nerves are too screwed up to tell me the "correct" story.

Good luck----be easy on yourself.  Hope you feel better sooooon!

Sorry to barge in, but just wanted to share that men can have unusual sensations (unwanted ones, I should add!) in unexpected places, too.  I have no better explanation than to say that whatever our nerves ought to transmit, they can do wrong, too.  Okay, now I'm bowing out of this thread!

For a while, I had what could be described as a mobile phone vibrating in my perineum.  Weirdest thing!  It went away after a couple of months.  I told my neuro.  Neither of us thought it was worth dragging out the steroids.

Hang in there, Wednesday is coming quickly!

Your symptoms sound exactly like what I experienced intiially that drove me to the doctor and eventually led to my MS DX.  At times I felt like there was something between my thighs that shouldn't be there.  One day I was at the store, I bent down to get something from the bottom shelf and I thought I'd defecated.  I immediately left the store, rushed home, and jumped into the shower thankfully I was wrong.  Two weeks later I was on my journey of multiple MRIs, LPs, and doctor visits.  The symptoms went away after steroid treatments; however, every now and then if I walk a lot or exert myself the feeling will re-emerge.  I am extremely empathetic to your embarassment. I hope you feel better soon.

Sounds like what I had.  Uterin, bladder and colon prolapse.  I hope that you get answers and take care of yourself!

Aching and dragging, huh?  I wonder if it's a spasticity problem.  I have all sorts of stretchy pains in weird areas.  I have hip flexor pain that radiates around into my abdominal area and causes my stomach to clench, and goes down into my thigh and around my knee.

So sorry you are experiencing these new possible symptoms.  We have had that question asked a few times in the past by other people experiencing these types of symptoms.

I went through a stretch of a good month or so or feeling a painful/very uncomfortable stabbing feeling on and off in that area. Fortunately it stopped but I can still remember how uncomfortable it would be at times.
